About Us

Parallel Options was founded in 2001 as a family-owned business and has since established itself as a leading provider of supported living and domiciliary care support for vulnerable adults with complex needs.

We are based in Gloucestershire, from where we are extending our services to clients elsewhere in the UK. This forward-thinking approach is supported by private equity firm Sovereign Capital, which purchased the company in 2007 with a focus on developing existing services and rolling out to new areas.

Our team of 69 specialist support workers and other staff, who currently support around 42 clients, is led by chief executive Steve Conway.

Steve has worked in healthcare since 1982, initially qualifying as a registered psychiatric nurse and subsequently working in mental health in the NHS and the independent sector.

He moved into clinical and operational management with Priory Healthcare, the UK’s leading independent provider of mental health care, becoming regional manager of acute services across the UK and later taking a lead role in managing and developing forensic services across England. He joined Parallel Options in 2008 as managing director.
